A Letter to the Community

Polymath Community,

We started building Polymesh nearly two years ago, with a vision of enabling capital markets intermediaries to leverage blockchain in an efficient, effective—and most importantly—compliant way.  Many things have evolved since then, but our commitment to this vision has not changed.

We are working with regulators around the world to set up a structure for Polymesh so that it is fully aligned with regulatory standards and designed to support current and future market requirements. As we all know, these conversations can take longer than anticipated, and as a result, we will be pushing back the Polymesh mainnet launch date to accommodate.

We’re confident in the technology that underpins Polymesh and in its readiness for launch. We will be demonstrating this by launching an incentivised testnet (ITN).  Successful public launches of other blockchains and protocols—including Cosmos, Polkadot, Cardano, and The Graph—have proven that incentivized testnets are an effective way to fully test functionality and encourage community participation once mainnet goes live.

The Polymesh ITN genesis block will be live by March 30, 2021, and rewards will begin accruing on April 13, 2021, when key user interfaces become available and the Running with the Bulls leaderboard lights up.

You can get more information on how the ITN works and how to earn rewards in this post.

The first Polymesh testnet went live in June 2020 and since then, community feedback has been instrumental in allowing us to refine and optimize the chain and its performance. Your input is especially crucial now, as we enter our last phase of testing prior to mainnet.

With that in mind, our new community support portal is now online. Please check it out and leave your questions, comments, and ideas.

Thank you for your continued support and happy testing!

Sincerely,

Thomas Borrel

Chief Product Officer at Polymath
